Elijah Bennett is a multimedia artist, designer, illustrator, and photo-based practitioner born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently in his senior year at Georgia State University, Bennett will graduate in Spring 2026 with a B.F.A. in Photography from the School of Art & Design. His creative practice spans photography, video, and graphic design, reflecting a versatile approach rooted in both technical skill and narrative vision.
Elijah Bennett’s work is rooted in the Black diaspora, exploring how memory, identity, and emotion shape the ways we, as black bodies, see ourselves and are seen by others. Bennett frames his subjects — whether portraits or intimate objects — from a personal and cerebral point of view, as participant and witness. This double consciousness guides his image-making, enabling images that resist flattening, instead centering on the multiplicity of Black life: loss and wonder, joy and grief, tenderness and resilience, anger and love. One thing is true, Black life is expansive, nuanced, and alive.
